Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I live in the UK and volunteer for Butterfly Conservation undertaking surveys and timed counts to help monitor butterfly populations; I also raise money for and support rescue dogs. I enjoy walking in cities or the beautiful local countryside and am on a mission to visit every English Cathedral. I love trips to London, the theatres and the odd champagne bar or two!

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing at age 11 when I didn't see why James Bond had to be a man and have been scribbling stories ever since.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I love writing, using my imagination is my pleasure and when others enjoy my stories too, that's a fabulous bonus.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

My Shadows series I love because there are so many intertwined stories spread over many years.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

The one I haven't finished!

Who is your favourite author and book?

It's a three way tie between Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, Georgette Heyer's Friday's Child and Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club series.

What book are you reading right now?

Robert Galbraith's The Ink Black Heart

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

From anywhere - snatches of conversation, what if scenarios or maybe even a song

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Walking, reading and watching comedy live or on the tv

Do you have any new books in the works?

The prequel to Escaping from the Shadows - Entering the Shadows, and the sequel, Casting Long Shadows. The 4th book just popped into my head recently, Sins of the Shadows...
