ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hi, I'm a physical therapist turned aspiring author. I have always loved writing and I am super excited to offer my debut novel, DONE. Writing has been a much needed escape into a fictional world, even if it's a world that mirrors real life. I'm an indie author. I wrote DONE in the span of a year. I have 2 children and a day job. Writing was sporadic between my other responsibilities. I'd find myself daydreaming about plot progression and character arcs. I've enjoyed creating the characters in my novel, I hope you will enjoy reading about them. Thanks for checking out my debut novel, I hope it's the first of many more.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I'm a Physical Therapist as my day job. I live in Raleigh with my husband and two children. I like to travel, hike, read and write.

When and why did you start writing books?

I've always flirted with writing over the years, but the past couple of years I found the drive to pursue writing novels. I have one published and one releasing this summer. I wanted to write stories that highlighted the lives of healthcare workers and mental health issues.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I wouldn't say it's a career, not yet anyway! But I love writing and expect it will be part of my life for a long time.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

My main character in DONE, Vivian, has a meddling older sister with a heart of gold. I've always wanted a sister, so I gifted my protagonist with one. I love her heart.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

I only have one published, but it was definitely harder than my work in progress. I am not formally trained in writing. I spent hours researching characters and plot developments.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Too many to list! But a recent favorite is Rachel Linden's "The Enlightenment of Bees".

What book are you reading right now?

Redbird in the Poppies By Angela Greer-Gann

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Everyday life, music

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I go to a kickboxing gym, walk, read, and travel. Writing takes up a good bit of my spare time.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes, my next book will be released in July. I'm finalizing the cover and title now while the manuscript is with my editor.
