About the author, in her own words:

I started writing books when I was a small child. It was my form of play and entertainment. Because of my love of books and reading, I became an English teacher and taught writing for many years.

My spiritual life began at the age of five with the revelation that I could not play hide and seek with God, since God is everywhere, in everything and everyone. I continued at the age of 12 to study Zen, Sufi, Hindu and Western religious theology, reading widely from the classic literature (The Tao, Upanishads, Vedanta, Zen koans) and studying the masters.

In 1980,  I backpacked from the tip of Southern India (Kerala) to Rishikesh and finally Badrinath in the Himalayas, staying in ashrams (spiritual retreats) and listening to the teachings of the holy men and women (Jain), sadhus and sanyasis. In Badrinath I spoke with and observed the naked nagas (ascetics), who lived with inner joy and discipline in icy temperatures, owning nothing, and inhabiting caves and forests by the Ganges.

I incorporate the teachings of Alan Watts, Don Miguel Ruiz, Gurdjieff, Ram Dass, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Sri Ramana Maharshi,  Punanji, Mooji, Krishnamurthi, Victor Frankl, Sri Aurobindo, Choygym Trungpa and many other spiritual teachers, into my unique philosophy of inner and outer healing.

Also having a practical bent, I wrote two books for adults, on Dating and Relationships: The Dirty Seven, Ladies Beware and The Dirty Seven Sisters: Men Beware. They are about the seven types of men and women on the dating marketplace, who are looking for relationships but do not have the emotional wherewithal to sustain them. They look good on social media, or on a date, but when you live with them, you find out that they are dead ends. Cut your losses, move on and find someone capable of empathy and love.

All along, I have been teaching classes on Discovering Your Soul Mate, Discovering Your Past Lives, Auras and Out-of-body Experiences, and other spiritual topics.

While the topic of Soul Mates is universally appealing, it has much more relevance for me. Teaching is one thing; experiencing a true love Soul Mate relationship, as I can tell from my personal journey, is the highest form of union one can attain here, on Earth. “Are You My Soul Mate?” is both a guide to and proof of how you can recognize and enjoy life together with your Soul Mate.

June was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil to American parents. They moved back to the United States while she was a child. After finishing college, she went to New York to study acting and singing, along with earning a Masters in English Literature.

After moving to Europe, she lived in Belgium and visited the major cities of the continent. Next came her "Passage to India," where she traveled from its southernmost tip to the Himalayas. Her familiarity with diverse cultures of the world originates from these experiences and flavors
her unique philosophy. It has also greatly contributed to her understanding of human nature.

Her career, so far, has included being an actress-singer, comedienne, writer, public speaker and speech writer, English teacher, and even being webmaster and systems usability engineer at AT&T.
