ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Murray Moffatt is a former broadcast journalist and senior public relations consultant. Over the course of 25 years, Murray wrote countless radio news stories and delivered tens of thousands of newscasts. As a public relations consultant, Murray wrote hundreds of media releases as well as briefing notes and magazine articles on behalf of clients. He delivered media relations training to executives from a wide variety of public and private companies and organizations. For years, Murray did extensive volunteer work with various organizations. He received a Mayor’s Award of Merit from the City of St.Catharines, Ontario and a provincial award (Ontario) for his work with Brant/Brantford CrimeStoppers. Now retired, Murray is the author of seven novels including, "Play", "Murder Best Unsolved", "Murder Maybe Relative", "Murder Maybe By Evil", "Murder Maybe Cold" and his latest, "Murder Not Quiet Buried". Born and raised in Ontario, Murray now lives in Innisfail, Alberta.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I am a retired former broadcast journalist and public relations consultant. I enjoy playing my guitar, jigsaw puzzles and writing.

When and why did you start writing books?

I have beem writing in some form or another my entire life, but never fiction, so it became my retirement hobby.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

Writing is not my career, just a retirment hobby.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

'A Tale Of Play And Murder' will always be my favourite because it includes two of my earlier novels combined.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

'Play', my first novel was tough because it was my first attempt at fiction and was a story idea I had carried around with me for a long time.

Who is your favourite author and book?

'Ghost Story' by Peter Staub

What book are you reading right now?

'Killing Moon' by Joe Nesbo

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

The ideas just come to me, but often I work out my story while I'm on my daily walk.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

jigsaw puzzles, floor curling

Do you have any new books in the works?

I have just released 'Never Murder At Home', the latest in my Shane Daniels Mystery series
