R.G. Miller has been writing crime fiction for fifteen years. His love for the genre started with shows like NYPD Blues, Hill Street Blues, and Law and Order. He lives in New York City.

Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I enjoy hanging out with my children and my toy poodle, Ocha.

When and why did you start writing books?

About fifteen years ago, I had always been interested in writing but was nervous about doing so. One day, a friend of mine read a short story that I had just completed, and the rest was history.

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

I love telling stories. So, it was easy for me to settle into writing.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Detective Iris Williams: Iris Williams became a tough lady after joining the NYPD. Detective Annette Toni is Iris's partner. She's cool to Iris's heat, and I love the way she keeps Iris under control. Detective Leroy Chalk: A detective, physically different from his peers, is a beast on the streets, but in his personal life...

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

The Patient. The research on hypnotists was exhausting, but I loved to sweat.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Jeffery Deaver's The Vanished Man

What book are you reading right now?

James Patterson's jack & Jill

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

Headline news for the most part.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Singing with my friends and walking my dog.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Yes, CASPER, A DETECTIVE STORY, BOOK 1. It's a spin-off. My readers have been telling me how much they loved the character and would love to see him out on his own. Casper will be ready to go this summer.
