ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ronnie Deaton is a Kentucky native whose family heritage began in the Appalachian hills of eastern Kentucky. Born in a log cabin on a hillside overlooking the Little Laurel River in Laurel County, Kentucky, I was a twin in a family of nine children, seven boys, and two girls. I am a Kentucky resident blessed with the remembrance of my childhood mountain home in eastern Kentucky. My books include, From Whence Cometh Thou, The Trial of Lessie Johnson, Rufus and Arnold, Madison Houston, and The Curse of Poison Honey Creek. My wife and I spend leisure time at an off-grid cabin nestled in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Our hobbies include many outdoor activities, such as hunting, hiking, and camping. We enjoy pioneer activities such as lye soap making and harvesting sap for maple syrup. I continue to write stories about growing up in rural eastern Kentucky and an exciting tour of duty in the US Army. I was educated in Kentucky and have three lovely daughters. My writings started in the later years of my life but have given me a lifetime of experiences to draw upon. I will continue to write as long as there are stories to be told about adventures in rural eastern Kentucky. All my writings have been based on facts and infused with fictional detail to give the reader an exciting adventure into the lives of Kentucky natives.
