ABOUT THE AUTHOR

If there is anything more intimidating to an author than a blank page, it is the author’s bio. This is especially true for a first-time author that has no accolades to rely on to engage potential readers. I could talk about my education, my career choices or the few articles that I’ve written over the years for a minuscule local newspaper, a defunct e-magazine or even the descriptions I’ve written for auction catalogs, but none of that prepared me for writing a novel.

Writing 100 to 250 words about what the city council discussed differs completely from writing a 90,000-word horror novel with fantasy elements. I personally don’t know what can prepare you for that. Even reading a hundred plus books per year couldn’t guarantee that I would have what it takes to sit down day after day to complete the story I’ve been wanting to tell the world, let alone write one that is worth reading. Like most aspiring authors, I’ve written off and on since I was a child, but that didn’t mean that I could write a novel.

My journey to become a published author is nearing its end, and thanks to the encouragement from friends, family and my funny little honey Lynda, that accomplishment is now within reach. I’ve recently started my author platform, including some social media accounts that I will use to share what this journey has been like and hopefully convince a few people to take the time to read the story once it is published. Maybe I’ll become the man, the myth, the legend, or maybe I will only have written a story that my friends and family read. Either way, I will have lived a dream, and not everyone can say that.
