Just my opinion, but…

You should not measure your social media marketing success based on your follower count.

As an author, your followers aren’t your true fans…

Your true fans are the readers who sign up to your email list.

They want to be a part of your community because they identify with what you write.

The rest are just following you because your last post was interesting enough for them to hit the follow button. They might come around with time and subscribe to your email list —but for now, they are not your measure of success.
