Tell us a little bit about yourself, your hobbies and interests.

I love reading. Whether it's getting lost in the pages of a captivating novel or diving into thought-provoking non-fiction, books have always been a source of inspiration and relaxation for me. I also enjoy gardening, and camping. Last but certainly not least, spending quality time with my family is an essential part of my life.

When and why did you start writing books?

I started writing stories at a young age, as far back as I can remember. In fact, I have always had a passion for storytelling. In grade 5 when I was part of a secret writing club, where we wrote and shared "dirty stories."

What made you decide to tackle writing as a career?

You know, I've always believed that everyone has something important to say. We all have unique perspectives and experiences that can inspire, educate, or simply bring a smile to someone's face. And for me, writing became the perfect way to share those thoughts and spread positivity.

Which one of your books or characters is your favourite?

Baryk Bird is not just any ordinary character; he embodies the spirit of my wonderful spirited grandson. His energy, curiosity, and zest for life are simply infectious.

Which one of your books was the hardest to write and stretched you the most as a writer?

Ah, the question of which book was the hardest to write. I have to say, without a doubt, it was "No Matter What". This book really pushed me as a writer and took me on an emotional rollercoaster. You see, "No Matter What" forced me to relive some of the most difficult times in my life as a mother. It made me confront my failures and triumphs head-on. It wasn't easy delving into those moments that I had buried deep within myself.

Who is your favourite author and book?

Oh, picking a favorite author and book is always a tough question for me! I'm an avid reader, and my taste in books tends to vary depending on my mood. But if I had to mention a few authors that have left a lasting impression on me, I would include Wally Lamb, Stephen King, and Max Lucado. He has this incredible ability to create deeply complex and relatable characters. His books like "She's Come Undone" and "I Know This Much Is True" have touched my heart in ways I never expected Stephen King is a master of the horror genre. His storytelling skills are unparalleled, and his ability to create suspense keeps me on the edge of my seat. Some of his classics like "The Shining" and "It" have given me countless sleepless nights. Max Lucado's books offer profound insights into faith, hope, and personal growth. His words have provided comfort during difficult times and inspired me to be a better person. Titles like "Anxious for Nothing" and "You'll Get Through This" have been incredibly impactful for me.

What book are you reading right now?

Right now, I'm in the process of rereading a true gem from my childhood - "Anne of Green Gables" by L.M. Montgomery. It's such a timeless classic that never fails to transport me back to the beautiful landscapes of Prince Edward Island and the adventures of Anne Shirley. There's something truly magical about revisiting a beloved book from your past, don't you think? Have you ever reread a book that holds a special place in your heart?

Where do you get your inspiration for your books?

When it comes to finding inspiration for my books, I draw from the rich tapestry of everyday life. For my adult books, it's the human experience in all its complexities that truly inspires me. I find that there is so much beauty and depth in our shared experiences, and I strive to capture that on the pages of my stories. But when it comes to writing children's books, a different kind of inspiration takes center stage - the laughter of joy from my grandchildren. There is something truly magical about seeing the world through their eyes and witnessing their pure delight in simple moments. Their laughter, innocence, and curiosity fuel my imagination and drive me to create stories that will captivate young hearts.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Spending quality time with my family is at the top of my list. Whether it's camping together or simply enjoying each other's company at home, those moments are priceless. When I want to unwind and escape into another world, you'll most likely find me curled up with a good book and when I’m not reading I’m usually writing something.

Do you have any new books in the works?

Oh, absolutely! I always have a few ideas bouncing around in my head. Currently, I'm really excited about three potential book projects that I'm considering.
